MET GALA 2025
If fashion were a language, the Met Gala is its most articulate expression, and after last night, we saw it speak in sparkle, silhouettes and impressive style statements. As the stars began to ascend the Met steps, we made notes on the key emerging trends of winter and have whittled it down to the top five – from sculptural satin bows to precision, feminine tailoring, here are the styles that turned our heads and here’s how to bring them into your wardrobe.

THE RETURN OF THE BOW
Sofia Richie stole the show in a custom Tommy Hilfiger gown designed in clean white satin with an oversized dandy-inspired bow at the bottom of an open-back detail. Marrying together modern minimalism and romantic drama, she showed us why bows are back for good, not ditsy and playful like last year’s coquette moment, but elevated.
ALL THINGS EMBELLISHED
Sydney Sweeney, as we've come to expect from the star, embraced full glamour last night in her custom black Miu Miu gown, dripping in multifaceted sequins, fringe detailing and a golden floral chest fastener. Sequins, everywhere. Refracting the flash of the cameras and moonlight alike. For the same radiance, our floor-length sequin dresses mirror her maxi, designed to sparkle from dusk 'til dance floor.
SCULPTED SILHOUETTES
Lana Del Rey was a highly anticipated attendee last night. Turning up in true Lana style, her look, taken from the Valentine Vertigineux Haute Couture Collection, made her appear ethereal with structured, arching feathers cascading behind her as if she were some kind of mythical creature. However, we’re here to talk about her drop hem maxi instead. Attached to a midnight velvet bodice, the fifty shades of brown satin skirt captured the drama of a puffball silhouette with architectural shaping, supplanting itself onto everybody’s wish list.
TAILORING WITH A TWIST
Hailey Bieber arrived with a mission: to prove that know matter how sharp and clean the tailoring lines, you can still be feminine and soft. Stepping out in a Saint Laurent mini blazer dress, it’s clear that precision tailoring, when done right, will continue to reign over autumn/winter, especially when paired with contemporary finishes like exaggerated sleeves or shoulder pads.
PLAYFUL POLKA DOTS
Keeping things minimal, Priyanka Chopra donned a custom polkadot tailored suit dress, designed by Olivier Rousteing for Balmain – proving that this retro print still knows how to make an impression. Accessorised with a wide-brimmed hat, black gloves, and a striking emerald Bulgari necklace, she brought life to this monochrome look with ease.
